Janelle and Scott...match made in heaven

Janelle has been one of my best friends for about 4-5 years now, she has been there through lifes ups and downs and has always been a source of strength in my life.  Her life has definitely been blessed through her devotion and dedication to the Lord and is a true example that God's plans aren't usually the same as our own...but will prove to be so much more than you can imagine!  Janelle and Scott said "I do" on the beach in St. Joe Michigan and although it was a little warm, it was absolutely a beautiful day to honor a beautiful couple and family.  My heart was touched on this day and my faith and hope revived that God has plans for us all if we just give Him our hearts and surrender to His plan in His time! Congratulations Janelle and Scott =)

Nicole and David...first wedding shoot with only my sister!

My brother in law's co-worker asked Gwen if she would want to shoot his wedding in July, and she asked if I would like to help!  Of course I said yes and it was beautiful!  They were a very neat couple obviously in love and just glowing. The Lakeside Rose Garden made for a magnificent background, although Nicole's smile could have made any location just shine!  Thanks Nicole and David for giving us the chance to capture your wedding day!  Congratulations!

This past April I made the decision to invest in buying a more professional camera body and I came upon a deal on a Canon 1D I couldn't refuse!  When I went to go pick it up I began talking to the woman who owns her own photography company and she ended up asking me if I might be interested in helping her with some weddings this summer!!!  I couldn't believe it, but it was meant to be!  I ended up helping her with about 4 weddings and it was amazing.  I learned so much, she was so much fun to work with and I really learned a lot just by watching her do her work too!  Below are just a few of the pictures I took while helping her out.  In doing so I have been able to further my opportunities in taking picutres on my own!

Ethan Cole-born July 28th. Photo shoot Aug. 7th, 2010

Only a week and a half after Cheryl's belly pictures were taken, Ethan Cole was brought into this world to proud parents Cheryl and Vince!  He weighed only 5# 3oz and was 18in long, such a little peanut!  Cheryl invited me back to capture some of Ethan's first couple weeks of life and boy was he a little pumpkin.  With this shoot I had just gotten a nice flash, but soon realized there was plenty of natural light to get good shots without the flash...again learning as I was going along.  Little Ethan was very cooperative, except for when he decided to pee on my black sheep skin rug...but he was still so cute!  Can't wait to catch more shots as this little guy grows up!

Best Friend's belly-July 18th, 2010

Cheryl and I have been friends since the 4th grade and I couldn't have been happier for her pregnancy when she finally told me!  The time of her pregnancy I was in the middle of a summer assisting a professional photographer shooting some weddings and I became more and more interested in doing some of my own photo shoots.  Cheryl decided to give me that opportunity and we really had such a fun time capturing her growing belly (which at the time she was 28 weeks I believe).  She has such a natural beauty that photographing her was way too easy.  We took some fun poses, added some cute baby toys/book, and some natural pictures for her eyes only =)  I had a good time working with different lighting situations and of course learned a lot too!  They ended up turning out really well and was so glad that Cheryl liked them as well!
